The city of Oakland is one of the nation’s most diverse and ethnically integrated cities with approximately 400,000 residents.
The Deputy Executive Director for Finance & Program Administration reports to the Executive Director (ED) and serves as the Authority’s Chief Administrative Officer.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong finance background with knowledge of public housing, Section 8, social services programs, and HUD regulations, policies, and procedures; must possess human resources management expertise, and housing authority financial and administrative capabilities. Requires at least five years of increasingly responsible management experience in the field of leased housing program administration or financial management and/or public housing programs with the responsibility for delivering the full range of housing services to low income clients.
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, although a combination of equivalent education, training and experience will be considered. Bi-lingual skills are highly desirable.
